Courses through jobcenter
Education is for everyone in Denmark
Who can apply for courses through the Jobcenter?
- Have already used your 6 weeks of "job-directed training" or are not entitled to it.
- Have a higher education (meaning you cannot get courses via the A-kasse).
- Are receiving kontanthjælp (social security).
- Are in job training or rehabilitation.
How courses are approved
- The Regional List: Usually, courses must be on the Regional Positive List for Greater Copenhagen (Hovedstaden).
- Job Guarantee: If a course is not on the list, the Jobcenter may still approve it if an employer writes a letter promising to hire you once you finish the course.
- Danish Providers: Only courses from providers registered in Denmark can be approved.
How to register
- Talk to the Jobcenter: You cannot sign up yourself. The Jobcenter must order the spot for you.
- Wait for the Invitation: Once the Jobcenter orders the course, you will receive an invitation in your e-Boks at least one week before the start date.
- Benefits: You will continue to receive your current benefits while attending the course.
Travel Allowance (Kørselsgodtgørelse)
- The form: Pick up an application at our reception in Hillerød or print it.
- Approval: On the last day of the course, our reception must sign the form to confirm you were there.
- Submission: Send the signed form to your Jobcenter (not the A-kasse).
- Deadline: You must apply within 4 months of finishing the course.
